Insurance and Fees

Time is the most important aspect of the doctor-patient relationship.

That is why Center Psychiatry operates on a fee-for-service / cash-pay basis.

Our practice is not paneled with any commercial insurance companies, and payment is due at time-of-service.

Many patients can apply for reimbursement of our fees, if their insurance company offers out-of-network benefits.

Fee Schedule

Fees are per visit and due at the time of service. Concierge members receive 20% off every appointment fee.

Out of Network

Most patients can submit a superbill to their insurance company to take advantage of their “out-of-network” benefits after they pay our practice directly.

College Insurance Plans

Most Boston-area college student insurance plans offer excellent out-of-network benefits for psychiatry. Please reach out to our office to check your student benefits.

We regularly serve students at Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, Boston University, Boston College, Tufts, Berklee School of Music, and more.

Thrizer partnership

Some of our patients use thrizer to manage their patients out-of-network insurance benefits. With thrizer, you can enroll in an option where you only pay your co-insurance rate up front.

Many patients with out-of-network benefits can submit receipts to their insurance company for reimbursement. We provide a “superbill” for you to submit directly to your insurance company.

We will work with you in good faith to ensure your reimbursements are processed correctly.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
